Welcome to
Standedge Tunnel

& Visitor Centre.

Home to the jewel in the Yorkshire waterways’ crown, this unique spot transports you to another world. Reopened in 2001 after a 20 year restoration programme, the Standedge Tunnel & Visitor Centre sits on the banks of the historic Huddersfield Narrow Canal, a waterway of startling contrasts, from tranquil countryside to dramatic mills.
You can’t help but marvel at the spectacular rural surroundings that welcome the start of the wild and untamed Marsden Moor.

Leave your car in the free car park and take the leisurely fifteen-minute stroll along the towpath and you’ll find yourself in breathtaking countryside. A spot where, whatever your age, there is plenty to see and do.
There's so much to see at Standedge Tunnel & Visitor Centre. Click to see more about Standedge.
